Hello everyone. I've waited a LONG time to be able to make the
following announcement: as of right now Nine Inch Nails is a totally
free agent, free of any recording contract with any label. I have
been under recording contracts for 18 years and have watched the
business radically mutate from one thing to something inherently very
different and it gives me great pleasure to be able to finally have a
direct relationship with the audience as I see fit and appropriate.
Look for some announcements in the near future regarding 2008.
Exciting times, indeed.

On October 19th, Einstürzende Neubauten are to release their new, independently produced album "Alles wieder Offen" for the EU market (US fans will have to wait until October 23). Working outside normal record business market mechanisms, Einstürzende Neubauten recorded the CD over some 200 days in their own studio funded by their world-wide network of subscribing Supporters via www.neubauten.org . In an interview for Re-public Blixa has been quoted saying that if the record releasing process (i.e. supporter subscriptions, self released album, independent promotion) doesn't work out financially this time around they "will not be able to continue working". If this means that the band would fold alltogether is not clear yet. However, it also means that releasing material outside a label is not always the easiest thing to do, especially financially.

The album will also find a regular distribution via the band's record label Potomak. But the "fan" version will have a number of extra songs and an optional DVD about the making of the album. Release in the meantime has revealed the list of countries with the most paying supporters:

1. Germany: 662
2. USA: 405
3. UK: 256
4. France: 109
5. Sweden: 81

The total number of supporters for this release, in the third phase of the supporter project, was 2245. More than phase one but less than phase two. The tracklist for the commercially available CD is as follows:
